“Eikelmuis” is a short online film project by the Zoogdiervereniging that highlights the life and rarity of the eikelmuis(garden dormouse), one of the Netherlands’ most threatened mammals. Until this project, there was barely any footage of the species in the country, making capturing it a major achievement. Filmed in its natural habitat, the project drew national attention and was even broadcast on Dutch national news. By showcasing this elusive species, the Zoogdiervereniging aims to raise awareness about its vulnerable status and the importance of protecting its habitat.
